Eph. 1:13b,14 In whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
After Jesus died on the cross, for the forgiveness of our sins, and God rose Him from the dead, He appeared to the Disciples. One of the things Jesus told them, was to wait in Jerusalem until they received the promise of the Father the Holy Spirit, who would empower them to be witnesses to all the world. They did as Jesus told them, and they did receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Right after receiving the Holy Spirit, Peter led 3000 people to accept Jesus as their Saviour and Lord.
We are those who believe the Gospel, and have given our lives to Jesus, and He is our Saviour and Lord. When we were Born Again, we received the Holy Spirit, and were sealed with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came into our lives, and He gives us the power to live a Godly life, and be Witnesses for Jesus. He also is the seal, the proof, that we belong to God, and are going to live forever with our Father God, here on Earth, and in Heaven, forever. We always have the Holy Spirit within us, and His help is always available to us. We do our best to be slow to speak, and quick to listen to the Holy Spirit at all moments when a reaction, or word may come forth. God's way most times is very different from what first comes to our mind to say or do. If some one does us wrong, our first reaction might be revenge. But the Lord Jesus wants to show love for that one through us, knowing that the person will be drawn to Jesus when we react with the love of God. And it always feels better to move in God's love.
The same Holy Spirit that enabled Jesus and the Disciples, also is within us, and wants to use us as He used the Disciples. Just as Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the Disciples in such a powerful, life changing way in Jerusalem, so He desires to Baptize all of us in the Holy Spirit.
Father we pray to be walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, as you will have us to. In Jesus name we pray.
