1 Peter 4:13,14 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
The first thing we are shown in this verse is to Rejoice. We have so much reason to rejoice, no matter what we are going through, no matter how hard things might be. Jesus left Heaven above and came to this Earth to suffer and die and pay the penalty for our sins. We always have this to rejoice over. We are in a battle against the spiritual powers of the devil and all his demons. Just as the devil brought all kinds of trouble for Jesus and the followers of Jesus, so we also are fulfilling the sufferings of Jesus. We must be strong, and stand up for Jesus and not hold back our confession of Him as our Lord. Even when we know that someone may not like us because we are a Christian, we will not hold back from loving Jesus with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Jesus is our all. We walk through this life with a Personal Relationship with Him, and He is the most important thing in all our life. We love Jesus, and when the day of His return comes, we will be in Glory with Him, forever. When these times arise while we are here on Earth, our Precious Lord Jesus is with us, and within us. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit which is within us. And Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is within us. We have no need to fear therefore, and these sufferings we are going through for Jesus, we are going through with Jesus hand in hand. Our Father God is above all, and is so much greater than any other. When our Father God speaks, it comes to pass. When Father God tells the devil this far and no farther, the limit is set. And our Father God has given us authority over the devil, so that he must leave when we command him to in the name of Jesus. Since God is for us, who can be against us, nothing can separate us from the love of God, through Jesus. The Spirit of God, and Glory rests upon us. And God is Glorified through us.
Father we pray to be faithful to you at all times, and to always rejoice even when suffering for Jesus sake. In Jesus name we pray.
