12/31/2012 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby:
The Word of God provides for us the way of life. 1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. First we are born again by the Word of God. We find our beginning when we accept Jesus, because we believe by Faith what God's Word reveals through the Gospel. 2Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. By the Word of God we are born again and start a whole new life in Christ, in a wonderful relationship with Jesus. Jesus said the Kingdom of God is within you, therefore we live with Jesus daily bringing the Kingdom of God with us where ever we go.
We remain in the Word of God to guide us to walk according to God's will. Psalm 119:11 Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:105 Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. As we spend time in the Word of God, we grow to know God so much better. We listen to God speak through His Word. 2 Tim. 3:16,17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. All scripture comes from God, Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, giving us the scriptures. The Word of God is profitable for us, for doctrine, reproof, correction, and to give us instruction of the right way we should be living. The Word of God is given unto us so we can be furnished for all good works. With the power of the Holy Spirit we will be Doers of the Word and not just hearers. We read the Word of God to know what God's will is for us and then we do it.
Father we pray to be Doers of your Word, and to be readers of your Word with the Holy Spirit illuminating what we are reading and applying your Word to our lives. In Jesus name we pray.
